Dear Parents 

Charity:  The wish list item for this week is small tubs of Vaseline.   

Contract:  An updated contract was sent home with the eldest child in each family (except grade 7’s).

There are material changes to the contract regarding our admission policy, the notice period and we have had to add a COVID clause.

The due date for returning the contract was Friday 13 November, if you have not yet returned the document please do so URGENTLY please make a copy for your records.

Late comers: Many learners are repeatedly late for school.  We understand that there are some days when there are circumstances out of your control – however, should you regularly encounter heavy traffic please plan accordingly and leave a little earlier.  Learners who are late for exams will forfeit that time.

Exams and Stationery: Grade 4 to 7 parents, please ensure that your children have all the necessary stationery for their exams next week. As per covid regulations learners may not lend or borrow stationery.

Fees:

Spell-a-Thon

Thank you for your support for the annual Spell-A-Thon. Please remember that if you have not already, please return forms and sponsorship money. If your form has been lost, we require an affidavit as the form has a monetary value.

So far we have raised R 11 750.00 and the winners of 1st, 2nd and 3rd place in respect of who brought in the most money will be announced on Friday.  1st prize is R500; 2nd prize is R300 and 3rd prize is R200.

Money raised is going towards the Gr R class. We have planted new grass, a picket fence is being installed today, we have bought toys and a Wendy hut for storage.

Year -End Exams:

Our grade 4 – 7 learners will be writing formal year end exams as we have been able to keep up to date with our syllabus.  Exams will start on 18 November.  Time Tables have been given to learners and were emailed to parents.

  • The Grade 7’s will write their exams and go home at 10:00 each day, unless otherwise communicated.
  • For all other grades; school closes at 12:00 from 18 November to 2 December.

Awards: Due to Covid restrictions we are not able to have the traditional Evening of Excellence.

We will have two awards mornings. 

  • Grade 1 to 3 parents are invited to the school on Friday morning 4 December at the following times.

Gr 1   – 08h00

Gr 2    – 09h00

Gr 3    – 10h00

  • Foundation phase learners to come to school with their parents at this time and may leave immediately after their prize giving.
  • Grades 4 – 7 learners do NOT come to school this day.
  • Reports will be given out at prize giving

  • Reports will be given out at prize giving

Registrations and Applications 2021:  We have a few spaces left for 2021 particularly for grade 1 and grade R.  Please like and share our Facebook and Instagram pages, and please let friends and family know.

KLC Transport:  We are once again running the school bus in the Horison and Discovery area. Transport is available in the morning and in the afternoon. If you would like more information or a quote please contact Janine.
