Charity: Every term we support a local charity. The wish list item for this week is dog food, dry or canned, any size is welcome.
Flip Flop Day Learners may wear Flip Flops to school on 12 February. We have purchased tickets in support of CHOC.
Valentine Week: Be our Valentine and support the Grade 7 class.
Every year the Grade 7 class raises funds and buys something for KLC. Previous classes have bought the stone benches, a new bell and grade R Equipment.
- All learners may wear civvies on Friday – the cost is R5 (Something red, black or white).
- The grade 7’s will be selling Valentine cards and raffle tickets. They will also be making and taking orders for tuck on Friday (12 February)
Hotdogs: R20 Red jelly & Custard R6 Oros R5 Combo (all three) R30 Orders will be taken from Monday
On Monday 15 February will also be collecting R1, R2 and R5 coins for charity, so we can share Kingfisher’s love. There will be a competition to see which class makes the longest line of coins.
Paper and tissues: Thank you to the grade 4 to 7 parents who have already sent their paper and tissues, as a reminder to those who have not; please send the following:
2 x reams of A4 copy paper and 4 x boxes of tissues. (This was included in the stationery packs sourced by the school so Grade 1,2, 3 and 4 parents, and those who ordered stationery from the school – this was included in your child’s stationery packs, so you do not have to send additional items)
Clothing Orders: Deadline date for winter uniform orders is next Monday 15th February. Clothing is manufactured on order and there is a lead time at the factory so it is important to meet the deadline.
Labels: Please label your child’s belongings, lunch boxes and clothing, so that if we find lost property, we can return it to the rightful owner immediately. There is no way that we can assist you if your child’s items are not marked.
Extra classes. Classes for grade 4 to 7 start on the Monday 15 February at 13:30 and end at 14:15.

Please note that the classes are free of charge and open to all grade 4 to 7 learners.
Learners who need extra assistance will be advised by the teachers if they must attend class.
School times: Teaching starts at 07h30; it is important that your child is at school comfortably before this time. Please allow time for covid screening and for your child to get to his/her classroom.
Transport: Please remember that the transport service is running. We have started off with areas close to the school such as Horison, Discovery, Florida Park, Roodepoort North for enquiries, please contact the school.
