Charity:  This term we are supporting the soup kitchen at Horison Methodist church. The wish list item for this week tea.

Morning Scanning:   Due to the colder, winter weather, Learner morning temperatures will now be scanned in the hall in the mornings.

Registration for 2022: Applications and registrations for 2022 are open, we have limited space for grade R and grade 1, siblings of our existing learners are given preference – If you would like to register for grade R or grade 1 please contact the office urgently.

Clothing Orders:  Next order date is 15 May. Please remember payment for clothing is strictly COD. Parents will need to make an arrangement to come to the office to try on uniform so that you can be assured that you are ordering the correct sizes.

Winter Uniform: With immediate effect learners are to wear winter uniform. Please check the uniform list – available in communication books. (gr R to 3) and diary (gr 4 to 7) for uniform details and ensure that they are wearing the correct uniform.

Bullying: As you are aware Kingfisher has a ZERO tolerance for bullying. Learners are encouraged to report bullying. All reports are thoroughly investigated; learners found guilty of bullying will be suspended.

The interactive workshops, with our grade 7 learners last week was very successful, the grade 5 learners will be attending the workshop tomorrow.

Change of address; contact information and proof of residence:

Each family is requested to send a proof of residence; no older than 3 months. This is a legal requirement and needs to be added to your child/ren’s file. You are welcome to email, send a whatsapp photo or send a hard copy to the school, by no later than Friday 14 May.  

  • (domicilium citandi et exeuctandi) is a material change to our contract; should your address change kindly provide us with and up to date proof of residence. Any/all legal repercussions resulting in legal fees because of a parent’s failure to do so will be for the parent’s account.

Senior Primary Squash: Grade 4 to 7 learners will be playing squash this term during their PT period on a Thursday. This will be done on a rotational basis and each grade will play twice this term. The cost per week is R15. Due to Covid, each learner must have their own squash racquet and shoes with light soles must be worn on Thursdays. Indemnity forms will be sent home, kindly return forms with R 30.00 to school to cover this cost. Learners who do not return signed indemnity forms cannot leave the school premises.
