Newsletter 23 – 2 August

Dear Parents

Charity: Wish list items for this term are 1kg bags of Mealie Meal, Baked Beans, Tinned Pilchards, Peanut butter and packet soup.

Extra lessons – grade 4 – 7: Extra lessons are from 13h30 to 14h00. Tuesday – Maths, Wednesday – English and Thursday – Afrikaans. All learners are welcome.

Uniform & Hair: Please mark each item of your child’s clothing we cannot assist you in finding lost property if there are no names in the clothing. Uniform inspections will be done regularly this term please see the uniform list in the diary/communication book.

** Registration 2023: Annual fees for 2023 were due by the end of July – the amount is R500 per child or R800 per family. Please note this amount will not be individually invoiced and will show on your statement once paid. This amount must be paid in order to secure your child’s place in the class in 2023

Letters with reply slips have been sent home to indicate who will be returning in 2023. Reply slips should have been returned by Friday 29 July 2022.

Grade R and Grade 1 registrations for 2023 are open. Please let friends and family know. Should you need application forms for younger siblings please contact the office.

School fee related queries: We have appointed a bursar who will be handling all our finances. He will send statements every month and handle all account queries. We have made this decision as we need an independent person in charge. Please send all your queries in writing to him at accounts@kingfisherlc.co.za. If you phone the office, you will be redirected

End of term 3 for all grades
Grade 4 – 7 Outing: On Monday 5 September our grade 4 to 7 learners will be going on an outing to Wits university to their annual Yebo Gogga exhibition. The cost will be R85 per child to cover transport to and from Wits. For more information see their website at https://www.wits.ac.za/yebogogga/. An indemnity form will be sent home shortly.

Grade 7 Fund raiser: Thank you for your support of our grade 7 fund raiser last Friday. All the learners had a lot of fun. The funds raised as part of their leave a legacy project will be used to purchase more whiteboards for the school.

School times Teaching/exam time starts at 07h25, please ensure that your child is here comfortably before this time. Learners who are late will be issued with demerits.

Fines: Fines for collecting children late will be enforced in term 3. R50 will be added to your account when learners are fetched after 14h00 – thereafter R50 will be added for every additional 30 minutes.
